In just 10 hours, students will prepare soup, vegetable, meat, and seafood recipes for such tapas favorites as tortilla Espanola (potato omelet), almendras fritas (savory sautéed almonds), and spicy albendigas (meatballs). They will polish their culinary skills and learn a few cooking methods traditional to the Spanish kitchen, using the cazuela (earthenware casserole) and plancha (griddle) to create authentic dishes. Back at home, students will have the know-how to throw a couple tapas together for an impromptu party or combine several dishes into a delectable, eclectic meal. Either way, tapas are a great way to bring friends and family together.
