Bring these quintessentially French confections to your home baking repertoire with this four-hour hands-on class. You’ll learn to bake madeleines, the elegant and distinctively shell-shaped cakes, in vanilla, chocolate, and citrus flavors. Then, you’ll tackle classic French macaroons (Gerber or macaron, en français) by using ground almonds, meringue, buttercream, and ganache to create delicate sandwich cookies in vivid colors and flavors, such as chocolate, lemon, passion fruit, pistachio, and coffee. To round out your macaroon education, you’ll make two additional cookie types using almond paste and coconut as the base. After class, you'll have beaucoup goodies to wrap up and bring home, as well as the proper techniques and recipes to sweeten up any occasion.
