Zhang Family Band October 25, 2009

Part of Ancient Paths, Modern Voices, a citywide festival celebrating Chinese Culture presented by Carnegie Hall, the Zhang Family Band combines old tune traditional music with a beautiful array of Chinese puppetry. This Chinese ensemble crafts traditional music performed at village rituals, including temple fairs, weddings, funerals, and seasonal festivities. This music can be traced back millennia, and is still deeply rooted in the daily life of Chinese villagers today. Presented in collaboration with Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Concert Series, a program of the Weill Music Institute. All ages.
