Z. McCarthy Artwork at Hillsboro Lighthouse Art Show August 6, 2008

Z. McCarthy and other artists have been personally selected by the THE CITY OF POMPANO BEACH CULTURAL ARTS COMMITTEE, ART EXHIBITS to exhibit a drawing at the Hillsboro Lighthouse Art Show and Presentation celebrating the history of the Hillsboro Beach Lighthouse.

The artworks at the exhibition are not for sale. This is a representation of our community’s history. Z. McCarthy says, "To have my drawing “The Auspicious Ride” representing our community is a tremendous honor."

Z.McCarthy has been an artist in this area for almost 25 years and now, because of this exhibition, the art and the artist are now part of its’ permanent history.

Z. McCarthy's “The Auspicious Ride” is a pencil, graphite and pastel drawing of a Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle set in front of the Hillsboro Inlet and Lighthouse. This drawing is a true representation of our modern Hillsboro Beach and the motorcyclists that ride past it every day.

The event will include a PowerPoint presentation and viewing of artworks and photos of the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse.
