What does it take to get noticed in comedy these days? A gimmick? A slogan? Breasts? Sure, those things work, but what ever happened to good old-fashioned talent? The members of Young Unknowns have been wondering the same thing. Before forming in 2004, these six individuals had become frustrated with the endless cycle of hope followed by disappointment that stifles every comedian who isn?t on the ?industry? radar. After rising to the top of their local Washington D.C. comedy scene, each member had successfully branched out, proving themselves at A-list clubs, colleges and competitions nationwide. But soon, they began craving something more: a way to get noticed.

Unwilling to pander to the prevailing climate of style over substance, there was only one choice. Join forces to create a straight-ahead comedy show that relies solely on talent to get noticed. The result is the Young Unknowns; a show that can be dark, clever, lighthearted or cynical, but always hilarious. Individually, each member has developed his own unique outlook, free of the clichés rampant in stand-up comedy today. Collectively, the Young Unknowns have brought their considerable experience and wide-ranging influences together to produce a show that is rewarding not only for what it is, but also for what it isn?t. No gimmicks, no slogans, no tricks. Just funny. Rest assured, they won?t be unknown for long.

Currently, you can catch the Young Unknowns on the first Thursday of every month at Wiseacres Comedy Club in Tysons Corner, VA. Each show includes six of the best young comedians in the area, as well as top-notch special guests. If you?re a true fan of stand-up comedy, you won?t want to miss this group of up and comers.

You can also hear the Young Unknowns radio debut June 24th at 10pm on XM Radio?s comedy channel 150.
