“You Kin Do It!:” Dunkin’ Donuts to Give 10,000 MBTA Commuters Free Rides on The T to Keep Bostonians Moving Through Their Busy Day

Dunkin’ Donuts will call upon “Charlie” from the classic movie
“Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” to present one lucky commuter

WHO: Charlie of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” – actor Peter Ostrum

WHAT: Dunkin’ Donuts, America’s all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, wants to let everyone know that even in these tough times, we can keep on going with a little help from our friends. To help spread the “Kin’ Do” spirit, Dunkin’ Donuts is launching a free transportation program in January in Boston and select markets throughout the Northeast.

On Friday, January 23rd, Dunkin’ Donuts will give 10,000 total morning commuters pre-paid Charlie Cards for a free ride on The T from the MBTA’s busiest stations – North Station, South Station and Back Bay Station.

Helping Dunkin’ Donuts give away the 10,000 Charlie Cards will be Peter Ostrum, better known as “Charlie” from the 1971 movie, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” Ostrum will aid Dunkin’ Donuts in presenting one lucky commuter with a “Golden Ticket” for a year’s worth of Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee and a Charlie Card for unlimited subway rides on the T for a year. Oompa-Loompas are not eligible for the “Golden Ticket” prize.

With "Kin' Do" literally part of the Dunkin' Donuts name, the new campaign cheers on the everyday people who keep America running by reminding them they can take on any task: you kin' make it through the workday, you kin' shovel out that driveway, you kin' pass that exam, you kin' finish that paperwork.
