Come experience the wonders of radio drama. Together we're gonna write, perform and record a short radioplay. Never heard a radioplay before? Well, I think you're just about ready then. Before film, TV and YouTube, radioplays ruled the airwaves. That was when radio was known as the "theatre of the mind", as drama and comedy was broadcast into homes around the world. But this lost artform isn't just for your grandparents - it happens to be excellent fun. This creative writing workshop introduces participants to radio drama and the possibilities of writing for sound. Over four days we'll playbuild and record a short radioplay, including some of our very own DIY sound effects. If you have a passion for creative writing and an interest in drama, come along. No prior acting experience or technical skills required, just two ears and a good imagination. This course is suitable for students in Years 5 to 6. Details of this event may be subject to change.
