Cellist Yo-Yo Ma has looked deep into his crystal ball, setting out a schedule that takes him deep into 2009, including an early look into next summer.

The Chinese-American performer has slotted around 30 dates into his calendar, including major stretches next March, when he performs with the Silk Road Ensemble (part of Ma's non-profit Silk Road Project organization) for a run of shows.
The performer, who is scheduled to play an Oct. 14 concert in New York City, also has a run of international dates lined up over the next several months. Ma's US and Canadian dates are shown below; for dates outside North America, check his official website. http://www.yo-yoma.com/

Ma's new recording, the holiday themed "Songs of Joy and Peace," is due in stores Oct. 14. The album boasts a star-studded cast of guest performers, including Diana Krall, James Taylor, Dave Brubeck, Alison Krauss and Chris Botti, among others.

The prolific cellist (Ma has released close to 100 albums since the late '70s) has won multiple Grammy awards, with his trophy in 2004 for Best Classical Crossover Album (for "Obrigado Brazil") being the most recent of his 15 wins.
