Yo Miss! Teaching Inside the Cultural Divide
Conceived, Written and Performed by Judith Sloan
Directed by Michael Dinwiddie
Associate Director Yoni Oppenheim

While exploring the world in her own backyard for the collaborative project Crossing the BLVD, Judith Sloan was also teaching in jails, universities and at the International High School in Queens, NY populated with teenagers from every corner of the world. She encountered immigration, cultural clashes, and generation gaps. Using music, poetry, and vivid character portrayals, Sloan's Yo Miss! performance breaks down assumptions that often divide seemingly conflicting worlds.
