YMM Chamber Players Benefit Concert April 20, 2011

Some of the finest young musicians from Youth Music Monterey's Honors Orchestra and guest alumna will present an evening concert of chamber music including works by Prokofiev, Beethoven and more. These musicians represent YMM guest alumni and outstanding musicians from our local schools including York School, Stevenson School, Trinity Christian High School , and Carmel High School. This new YMM program is led by Chamber Music Director, Erica Horn, a performer and teacher of clarinet for 30 years. Currently Ms. Horn is principal clarinet for Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra, often performs with the Bay Symphony, teaches for the Orchestra in the Schools program, coaches chamber music and the woodwind section for Youth Music Monterey and maintains a private studio.

Proceeds raised at this benefit concert will support the programs of Youth Music Monterey which includes the Junior Youth & Honors Orchestras, South County Strings and Chamber Music Players. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to assist Japan’s Disaster Relief efforts. Can't make the concert, but would still like to donate to the cause? Please join us Wednesday, April 20th at 7:00 pm at Hidden Valley Music Seminar located at Carmel Valley Road at Fort Road in Carmel Valley.

Students from five area high schools make up the young stars of YMM’s Chambers Players. Join us for what promises to be a remarkable performance by some wonderfully talented, young local musicians!
