The Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to presenting stories that convey the richness and diversity of Asian American experiences to the broadest audience possible. They do this by funding, producing, distributing and exhibiting works in film, television and digital media.
"Graceland" is set in the urban underbelly of Manila, Graceland is a provocative thriller from Ron Morales, writer/director of 2008’s award-winning Santa Mesa (Special Jury Award, SFIAAFF 2008). Where Santa Mesa was a warm and touching outsider’s view of the Philippines, Graceland gives us a cold taste of the Philippine streets from the point of view of a native, but with no less humanity, nor heart.

Family man Marlon Villar is the long-time driver of Manuel Chango, a corrupt Filipino congressman. One afternoon, while driving his preteen daughters home from school, the three are violently ambushed in a kidnapping attempt. When the attempt goes horribly awry, the wrong girl is taken, and the driver's life takes a sudden, terrifying turn. Left as the only witness to the crime, Marlon's loyalty is called into question. As events unravel further, he, Chango, and their families become ensnared in a downward spiral of betrayal and deceit that will ultimately leave no one innocent.
