Sensual, playful, and provocative, Sally Potter's 'Yes' dissects the passionate love affair between an American woman (Joan Allen) and a Lebanese man (Simon Abkarian) in London. "She" is a brilliant scientist, an Irish-American married to an English politician (Sam Neill). Trained as a surgeon in Beirut, "He" now works as a cook, living in a small London flat, separated from his family and culture. Potter celebrates the romance but also forces her lovers to confront the tangle of prejudice and power that daily engulfs them.
