On Friday, March 23, Michelle Shearer, 2011 National Teacher of the Year, will speak at the Y of Central Maryland’s 2ND Annual “What if” event at Annapolis High School.

At this public event, Shearer, not only an inspiration to educators, students and parents, but a dynamic speaker, will discuss the topic, “What if? Being Extraordinary at Whatever You Do. Her talk will focus on fostering the resiliency, persistence, perseverance and creativity necessary to thrive in the 21st Century.” Following Shearer’s speech, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session.

Shearer’s speech is part of the Y of Central Maryland’s “What if?” annual speaker series. The 2010 speaker was Dr. Ben Carson.

Tickets can be purchased at www.ymaryland.org and are $10 per person and $5 for children 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the Y's Safe Place for Kids campaign.
