About Marshall Crenshaw:

XPN Welcomes Marshall Crenshaw back to Steel City. Marshall is known for his well-crafted songwriting and eclectic musical career. He began playing guitar at age 10 and got his first break playing John Lennon in the off-Broadway touring company of the musical Beatlemania. Robert Gordon recorded Marshall's song "Someday, Someway" and it reached #76 on the Billboard chart in 1981; Marshall's own version made #36 the following year. Marshall was often compared to Buddy Holly early in his career and he portrayed the late phenom in the 1987 film La Bamba. Crenshaw's latest release, Jaggedland, was released in June 2009 on his new record label 429 Records.
About Cliff Hillis:
We are also very happy to welcome Phoenixville's Cliff Hillis back to Steel City. Cliff has performed at Steel City numerous times as a solo artist and with his band The Forward Thinkers, and previously as a member of the band IKE. Cliff is one of the most talented singer-songwriters ever to grace our stage. His lyrics are intelligent, and his hooks are sure to get stuck in your head for awhile. He has won Best Male Songwriter and Best Singer-Songwriter awards and also won a national contest for writing a jingle for Chili's Restaurant, and his songs have been placed in both television shows and movies. He released The Long Now (2008), his second album for Tallboy Records, to critical acclaim. He is working on a follow-up, to be released in the spring of 2011.
