ABOUT DJ REVOLUTION
As one of the most well known and respected Djs across the globe,
Revolution has been holding down the two Technics on the longest running
commercialhip hop show in history for 10 years now. The Wake Up Show, with hostsSway (MTV) and King Tech is an internationally syndicated hip hop mixshow that has helped launch the careers of some of the biggest andbrightest including Eminem, Xzbit, Common, and countless others. Theshow even experienced a brief run as a show on MTV, adding visualimages and faces to the world famous radio trio. However, Exposingquality Hip Hop to millions of people while displaying hisunquestionable skill is just part of DJ Rev’s resume.
Aside from his weekly DJ and production duties on the radio show based
out of Power 106 in Los Angeles, he has lent his now infamous scratch
techniquesand production skills to many artists, established and up and comingalike. KRS-1, Dilated Peoples, Canibus, Chino XL, Royce da 5’ 9”, ThaAlkaholiks, Mystic, Bootcamp Click and many more have all witnessed theturntable wizardry or pounding beats that Revolution brings to thetable.
Dj Revolution released 3 solo full length Lp’s that garnered
worldwidecritical acclaim (“In 12s We Trust”/”R2K”/”King Of The Decks”) and acollaboration with his partners Sway & Tech (“This Or That”) onInterscope in ‘99.
His Latest album featuting the now classic anthem “The DJ” featuring KRS-1
achieved great success around the world on radio and satellite. “King of the
Decks”,which continues to sell also found its way to the top of some of themore prominent tastemakers ‘best album of 09’ lists including #1 withDJ Premier.
Currently, he is promoting and touring the album whileDJ’ing in clubs, creating music for TV, Film and independent filmmakers. He got the bug in 1997 when he scored the Jet Li cult classicmovie “Black Mask”. To date he has worked with MTV, VH-1, ESPN amongothers and has had music placed on many popular Network and cable shows.
Sincehe’s the DJ of the Wake Up Show, he’s able to reach 12 millionlisteners weekly. Therefore, being the most listened to DJ in the world.
