The Music Gallery and AIMToronto (Association of Improvising Musicians of Toronto) present the first night of our inaugural X Avant new music festival, featuring two sets by New York City composer, improvisor and multi-instrumentalist Joe McPhee. Joe will perform both solo (8pm) and with Toronto-based players Victor Bateman, bass; Michael Keith, guitar; and Rob Piilonen, flute (10pm). The 9pm (middle) set will be performed by Toronto free-pop superheroes and Blocks Recording Club artists, Deep Dark United.
