The word Cryptography is one that possibly creates fear and concern in system administrators and management alike. One reason is that cryptography is often perceived as very difficult, mysterious, and a bit of magic. There may be hesitation around implementing cryptography within the organization due to a lack of information or other concerns such as the ability to recover the data should the keys be lost. However, many businesses and organizations are required to implement cryptography due to the advent of regulatory requirements for protecting data, the potential of punitive damages, and the evolution of the interpretation of laws such as HIPAA, and state data breach disclosure laws.

This presentation is intended to enhance your understanding of cryptography, encryption methods, basic techniques, and address the concerns you may have around cryptography.
