Anne Fadiman and Students at New Haven Library April 2

For the third year in a row, Anne Fadiman, Yales Francis Writer-in-Residence, returns with her students to The New Haven Public Library, 133 Elm St., for a Writers Live! event on Thursday, April 2 from6-7 pm.Their theme is Exploring the Profile, demonstrating a variety of styles of character profiles. Ms. Fadiman will read from her recent collection of essays, At Large and At Small, and her students will share some of the profiles they have constructed of memorable local people., a former Arts and Living editor at the Yale Daily News; Anthony Lydgate, anassociate editor of the Yale Daily News Magazine and principal clarinetist of the Yale Symphony Orchestra; and Justin Stone, who sings in and manages an a cappella group, plays violin, and tutors in writing.

Anne Fadiman is the author of The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, an
account of cross-cultural conflicts between aHmong family and the American medical system, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for nonfiction. Her students include:
