Four acclaimed international writers will read from and discuss the work they have been writing in response to their travels across the Mid-Atlantic where – as part of the “Writers in Motion” program sponsored by the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program – they have been revisiting select periods of struggle and recovery in America’s history. Opening remarks by National Endowment for the Humanities Chairman Jim Leach and Marjorie Ames, Cultural Programs Division Chief at the State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
