Denise Michelle Harris, author of the novel Sweet Bye-Bye, resumes her free writer work-shop series. Writers are often told to ―show‖ not ―tell‖ – to help readers witness a scene for themselves, rather than having it summarized for them. Denise will lead workshop partici-pants in exercises from Chapter 5 of The Making of a Story: A Norton Guide to Creative Writing by Alice LaPlante: "Why You Need to Show and Tell." Unleash your creativity in this hands-on, supportive workshop! Participants can choose to work on the ex-ercises before class, and, time permitting, will have the opportu-nity to share excerpts from their writing with other workshop participants.
