What is the International Forum?

The Young Professionals International Forum (http://www.itsyourworld.org/yp/) is a community of internationally-oriented young professionals in their 20s to 40s who bring the ideas of their generation to the World Affairs Council (http://www.itsyourworld.org/).

International Forum programs tend to be more community-oriented and social than traditional World Affairs Council events. Although we have hosted luminaries such as the King of Jordan, the author of the Patriot Act and the CEO of Levi Strauss, our typical events are more focused on interlacing members of our community. Much of our activity is focused on bringing people together to share their knowledge and experiences. We have 14 groups that meet monthly to share their appreciation of different languages and cultures over dinner. IF Members have access to World Affairs Council Trustees at regular off-the-record dinner conversations. Our social events are renown throughout the Bay Area with innovative performances and enlightening settings.

We welcome you to join our community. Our organizational meetings take place on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm. They are held at the World Affairs Council at 312 Sutter Street, Suite 200 in San Francisco. Please contact our Membership Chair, Atul Chawla ([email protected]) with any questions.

What is the World Affairs Council?

An organization founded in 1947 out of the interest generated by the founding of the United Nations in San Francisco. With over 10,000 members, it is the largest international affairs organization on the west coast. We host more than 200 events every year with leading political and business leaders, thinkers, journalists, and artists. In addition to our headquarters in San Francisco, we serve members through chapters in Contra Costa, Marin, and Peninsula, along with an affiliate in Sacramento and occasional events throughout Northern California. We are the largest community of the World Affairs Councils of America.
