Workshop - MusiKi : Music for Kids. Indian Classical Music Workshop. In collaboration with Inner Courtyard. Indian culture, especially classical music is among the most ancient developed systems. The unbroken continuity of Indian art music with an ongoing metamorphosis into very current idioms makes a fascinating study. Though Indian classical music is the basis for all the popular music from bhajans to Bollywood, it is perceived always as something that is not easy to engage with. To make the induction into classical music most enjoyable an exciting series of workshops have been designed for children between the ages of 8 and 12 years. The first workshop will focus on the theme of Varsha ritu, the impending season of monsoon. After the three instructional sessions the workshop will conclude with a brief performance by the participating children in the Little Theatre.
