ABOUT THE POETS

Darryl Alladice is a performance poet/storyteller who grew up in both Harlem and Brooklyn. His work been performed at many venues, including the Schomburg Research Center, Boulevard Books, Barnes and Noble, Queens Public Library, City College of New York, Dwyer
Cultural Center, Bowery Poetry Club, Dark Room Writers Collective, Trinity Repertory Theatre, Emerson College, and Zora’s Art Space. His latest collection of poetry, Measuring in Liters, focuses on learning to live with Sickle Cell Anemia and end-stage renal disease. www.deealladice.com

Born in Trinidad and raised in Queens, New York, Cheryl Boyce Taylor is the author of three collections of poetry, Raw Air, Night When Moon Follows, and Convincing the Body. Her poetry can be seen in Diane Samuel's Lines of Sight in a permanent exhibit at Brown University. A graduate of Stonecoast MFA Poetry Program, Cheryl's poetry has been widely published in literary journals such as; Caribbean Erotica, The Well&Often Reader, So Much Things To Say: 100 Calabash Poets, The Mom Egg, and Aloud:Voices from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Cheryl is working on a memoir and a new collection of poetry.

DuEwa Frazier is a writer, poet, educator, literacy advocate and speaker. She is the author of Goddess Under the Bridge, Ten Marbles and a Bag to Put Them In: Poems for Children, Shedding Light From My Journeys, Stardust Tracks on a Road and editor of the NAACP Image Award nominated poetry volume, Check the Rhyme: An Anthology of Female Poets & Emcees. DuEwa earned the M.Ed. degree in Curriculum and Teaching at Fordham University and the M.F.A. degree in Creative Writing at The New School. www.duewaworld.com
