Twenty-One Crows

Taking folk music into darker framed terrains, Brighton based two-piece Twenty-one Crows play edgy brooding songs, dusky tales of life, loss and fortitude, and what it is to be human.
Comprising Jon Griffin (Planquez) on vocals and guitar, and Becca Tann on accordion and clarinet, Twenty-one Crows formed in the spring of 2007 and finished the year with a performance at Brighton Live festival and the completion of the four track CD EP, ‘Whatever Will Become Of Us…’ Mixing Jon’s husky and spooky balladry with Becca’s languorous accordion creates a sound that is deeply atmospheric and stirring. Taking a DIY approach the band recorded and produced their debut limited EP of 100 copies, packaged in a beautifully hand pressed and numbered lino print sleeve.
The band is currently at work on a new album, due to be finished later this year.

Twenty-One Crows are a captivating sigh of relief in the folk genre. This Brighton based band make brooding, brilliant modern classics. The Great Escape Festival.

Tristram.
This is what Tristram had to say...
I find life mildly and yet constantly overwhelming. I would like to write songs about tragic and ill-fated love affairs or about notorious outlaws, and sing them from the tops of windswept cliffs, but instead find myself standing on chairs at house parties and singing songs about my bike. Which may be a contemporary equivalent. These songs are intended as lullabies for dark and uncertain times.

Kristin McClement performs her enchanting folk ditties with mesmerising force. Kristin McClement is a singer and writer of slow, regal songs.
