Woodcarvings June 27, 2007

The woodcarving collection features both Swedish and Swedish-American woodcarvers. From the Swedish woodcarvers, such as Herman Rosell and Axel Petersson (also known as Doderhultarn), one sees a glimpse of Swedish life. The Swedish-American woodcarvers carved figures of people they remembered in Sweden and documented life in America. Artists in the collection include Emil Janel, Andy Anderson, Oscar Sjogren, Anton Pearson and Gus Gerdin.
