The Women’s Exchange of Washtenaw (WXW) is extending a special two-for-one offer for the WXW Forum09 on Friday, May 15. Attendees who register for a full-day registration ($129) are now invited to bring a guest for free. Details about the offer can be found at www.wxwbusiness.com.

“We heard feedback from WXW participants that they felt like it was important to gather as many people together as possible to talk about business and find new ways to adapt to our ever-changing economy,” commented Carrie Hensel, WXW co-founder.

“We felt the best way to make that happen was to offer a free ticket to our attendees so they could invite a client, colleague, or prospect to come along with them —or even to sponsor someone else,” noted Debra Power, WXW co-founder.

The purpose of the WXW Forum09 is to foster business growth in the region. This full day conference will engage the business community and work through common issues women business leaders face. The event will be held at the Kensington Court Hotel (610 Hilton Blvd) in Ann Arbor. This event provides an interactive and lively experience for attendees. The schedule includes a panel of regional speakers, practical workshops, WXW “Exchange Sessions,” and networking activities. Building on the success of the 2008 conference with more than 200 attendees, the WXW is planning for more than 300 women business leaders from across Michigan and Ohio in 2009. The complete schedule and registration information is available at wxwbusiness.com.
Event panelists include: Kimberli Cumming, Executive Director, The Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan; Debi Scroggins, CEO, Bearclaw Coffee; and Maria Thompson, President of the Government Solutions Group of A123Systems, Inc. The panel will be moderated by local media expert Mary Morgan, Publisher of the Ann Arbor Chronicle.
Sponsors of the event include: The Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce; Key Bank; Allegra Print & Imaging; Ann Arbor SPARK; Arboretum Ventures; Bank of Ann Arbor; Brogan & Partners; Dollar Bill Copying; Dykema; Homewatch Caregivers of Ann Arbor; Michigan Commerce Bank; MI-SBTDC; Plante & Moran; SEW MI; Sign Text; Whole Foods Market; Weidmayer, Schneider, Raham & Bennett; Ann Arbor Radio; Ann Arbor Business Review; Concentrate; and Corp! Magazine.

The mission of the Women’s Exchange of Washtenaw (WXW) is to host unique events where women business leaders really talk through their issues, share experiences and ideas, and form lasting connections. Ann Arbor businesswomen Carrie Hensel and Debra Power founded WXW in 2007. They saw the need for an organization dedicated to women who are building strong and growing companies. Today, WXW provides hundreds of women business leaders with interactive events and networking opportunities.
