WOMEN TO WOMEN

A Music, Humour and Spoken Word Concert

In Celebration of International Women's Day March 8, 2008

Sue Kenney -- pilgrim, author, speaker, leader, and world masters rowing champion -- has a mission to give women a platform to use their voice to inspire others. That is exactly what she is doing on International Women's Day 2008. Sue has gathered an ensemble of inspirational women speakers, musicians, authors and poets for the first annual Women to Women international women's day concert. Women to Women will take place Saturday March 8, 8:00 p.m., at the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto.

The event's Host Deborah Kimmett is a SecondCity veteran who now works as a hilarious and inspiring professional keynote speaker. The Women to Women lineup of performers includes: singer, songwriter, guitarist, film music creator, and social activist Lorraine Segato, internationally renowned soprano Suzie Leblanc with pianist Robert Kortgaard, award-winning young Italian violinist Laura Andriani, Venezuelan-born Latin-jazz artist Eliana Cuevas, Aboriginal hand drummer and inspirational speaker Brenda MacIntyre, the Healing Divas, and guitarist-vocalist Batsheva Capec.

In addition to the wealth of music, Women to Women features piano-accompanied readings and storytelling by world-renowned ballerina and principal dancer with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Evelyn Hart, poet Karen Haffey, and storyteller and event coordinator Sue Kenney. Kiernan Antares will perform an author reading accompanied by a drummer, and dancers from the Vesnianka Ukrainian Dance Ensenble will perform. Anna MacKay-Smith is the Director of the Women To Women show.

Women to Women tickets are $45, available at the Glenn Gould Studio Box Office: 416-205-5555, www.glenngouldstudio.com. A silent auction and reception will take place before the concert, 7-8pm. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the performers at a post-show reception. Women to Women will raise funds for Women Build (Habitat for Humanity) and Global Fund for Women.
