37th and O Streets
Washington, District of Columbia 20057

Delegates returning from trips to Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Guatemala, and the site of the founding of Witness for Peace - Jalapa, Nicaragua - and others will gather in Washington, D.C. for a 25th Anniversary Grassroots Conference, where we will learn the skills necessary to build an effective, vibrant grassroots movement. Issue workshops and skills trainings will fill this exciting weekend, June 21-22. On Monday, June 23, those who participated in the conference will descend on Capitol Hill to lobby their elected representatives on the issues that affect Latin America. You can look at a draft schedule at http://www.witnessforpeace.org/25conferenceschedule.html.

In the middle of all the action will be a 25th Anniversary Celebration, to be held on Saturday, June 21 at 7:00 PM. We will have a delicious Central American dinner prepared by local immigrants in our community, reflections on our first 25 years, poetry, and music. Even if you can't make it to the rest of the conference, please come celebrate with us Saturday night, June 21, 2008.

(Note: the conference will be held at Georgetown University, and the celebration will be held at All Souls Unitarian Church, 1500 Harvard Street NW, Washington D.C. The cost of the conference is $70 and includes the entrance to the celebration, which alone is $25. Registration deadline is May 31. Those requiring lodging should get their registrations in ASAP.)
