“Winning Workforces” will highlight growing US companies that are using winning workforce practices to boost their profitability and competitiveness. The Southeast as a region has been hard hit by economic dislocations stemming from globalization and free trade. This event will give Southeastern company management teams a chance to hear from CEOs from companies around the country that have implemented strategies for surviving and thriving in an increasingly global marketplace, while creating great places to work for both entry-level and white collar employees. These strategies are critical if the Southeast is to retain its reputation as a region of the country with a vibrant economy.

CEOs from 6-8 companies will describe their best practices to an audience of:

· management teams from Southeastern companies
· community and economic development professionals
· local, regional, and federal government representatives
· investors and lenders· business advisors

Engagement strategies covered will include:

· profit sharing and performance-based incentives
· comprehensive and innovative benefit plans
· employee involvement and advancement mechanisms
· broad-based stock option plans· open book management
· creating vibrant employee cultures that inspire engagement and loyalty.

CEOs presenting will represent companies operating in a range of industries with both white and blue collar workforces – from construction to call centers to manufacturing and information technology. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss implementation of the strategies presented, and the day will end with a tour of an innovative Atlanta-based company utilizing innovative workforce strategies.
