Circle Theatre, a professional, contemporary regional theatre company in Sundance Square, will begin previews of A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant on November 20, 2008. An OBIE Award-winner, this non-traditional rock musical was created by writer and musician Kyle Jarrow and will be directed by Jaime CastaA+/-eda. A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant tells the story of Scientology and its founder L. Ron Hubbard's meteoric rise from science fiction writer to leader of a New Age religious empire. A cast of local children portray L. Ron Hubbard, Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and the evil alien Xenu against the backdrop of a traditional nativity pageant. The production is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Scientology. The cast consists entirely of young actors (aged 9 -14 years old) from the Dallas/Fort Worth area and includes Tayia Anderson, McKenna Booth, Taylor Fox, Logan Kirkendoll, Cayman Mitchell, Riley Morrison, Madeline Paddock and George Paddock. "We're excited to produce such an innovative and hilarious holiday musical," said Rose Pearson, executive director and producer at Circle Theatre. "A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant will definitely get people's attention, especially with all of the recent media coverage and interest in Scientology."
