Wing Madness April 7, 2010

How many wings can a Chicago police officer or Chicago fire fighter eat for a good cause? Find out by attending the first annual Wing Madness 2010 event on April 7, 2010 at Dick’s Last Resort. Doors open at 5:30 pm so be sure to attend to cheer on Chicago’s first responders.

100% of your $25.00 donation at the door will... benefit The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois which grants wishes for children with life threatening conditions. The donation will entitle attendees to cheer on their favorite firefighter or policeman while enjoying free food, soft drinks and listening to the band, “No Direction.”

“Mancow” Muller of WLS Radio will emcee the event while our celebrity judges: Jesse White, Illinois Secretary of State (pending schedule confirmation), Alderman Ed Burke and Skyline Columnist, Felicia Dechter and other surprise authorities, determine the winners.

The police officers and firefighters will compete in two events, sponsored by Grand Mitsubishi of Elmhurst/Bensenville. The first contest is pure speed: How Many Wings Can You Eat? In this timed event, nine firefighters will compete against nine police officers. The winning firefighter will then go one-on-one with the top cop. The second competition is How Hot Can You Go? Participants will compete in match-off rounds of increasingly hot sauced wings: Can You Take The Heat, Blistering Insanity, Nuclear Nightmare and finally, whoever is left standing after The Hell Mouth will be the winner. All pepper wing sauces are original recipes from the kitchen of Chicago’s famous restaurant, Dick’s Last Resort. The winner of each event will receive a weekend stay at The Palmer House Hilton Hotel.
