Wine Drunky Tour of Willamette Valley October 24, 2009

The agenda is thus. Pick up in the morning about 9am. Stop on the way out of town to grab some lovely bread, salami, etc and then head out to the valley. Hit the first winery at 11am. Nibble through snacks on our way between destinations. Hit three or four (if time permits) vineyards. Tasting should cost ~$30. Finally, stop in for dinner before heading home.

So the status on the transport is that vans with drivers are swanky. Swanky and expensive! We can rent a van *without* driver for ~$120 including mileage and gas. That should work out to a much more reasonable ~$20 per person.

What better thing to do in late October when the grapes are ripe on the vine than kill a Saturday riding around wine country? Join me and the crew of the willing in rambling around the Dundee Hills appellation on Oct. 24. We're hand-selecting the best of the best wineries. I'm thinking we can all bring along tasty snacks like salami and cheeses to share and will probably stop somewhere out there to have a proper meal.

We're looking at options for a van so we can all get properly tipsy and not have to drive. Questions? Ideas? Suggestions?
