From his legendary years fronting Mink DeVille (1974-85)to his critically-acclaimed solo career, Willy has been adding his own unique voice to the larger musical conversation for over three decades. Willy was born in New York as William Borsay. At 14, he taught himself to play guitar. At 18, he moved to London looking for a band. At 19, he played the San Francisco scene. At 20, he returned to New York and landed at CBGB's. Willy's music has reinvented the art of avant garde music with his unforseen range in musical signatures. Starting with the style of Punk/Ska, and evolving into Rock and eventually what is now dubbed "Spanish Americana," Willy DeVille has proven that one artist can attract attention from virtually every corner of the globe.
