Drummer Willie Jones III is stepping forth as one of the world's leading jazz drummers. In addition to honoring the late great Philly Joe Jones, Art Blakey and Billy Higgins as his monumental influences, Jones' bold articulation and constantly innovative sense of swing are direct results of his life-long musical experience. He will be accompanied by special guest Eric Reed, who in addition to leading a quintet that features some of the newest young talent on the scene, plays piano for most of the tracks on Jones' new CD 'Volume 3', which was released in 2006.
