Laugh in the New Year with this hilarious Latino comedian from L.A.
He’s hot off his one-hour Comedy Central stand up special "Deal With It," which aired this past spring on Comedy Central.
Growing up in East L.A., Barcena's people skills, street-smart wit along with his mother's "just use common sense, dummy!" enabled him to connect with a wide array of cultures, yet his performances are able to maintain pride and cultural awareness without perpetuating any Latino stereotypes. His philosophy: know who you are and have people laugh with you, not at you. Growing up in the diversity of L.A. taught Willie that people have more similarities than differences. He takes that knowledge and uses it to create humor that crosses the cultural and economic boundaries of America. On stage, Barcena relates hilarious stories about the characters that pepper his life including: his anal-retentive bosses, a macho Archie Bunker uncle, and his numerous relationships with women like "Psycho Chick" and "Bitter Broad."
He has also appeared as much as eleven times on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and on "Moesha" and "The Wayans Brothers" as well as Galavision's "Loco Slam," "Que Locos" and "Funny is Funny." In addition to performing, Willie writes on a regular basis. He performed in and wrote a one-man show called "Cry Like a Man" and has done script writing for the Nickelodeon television show "The Brothers Garcia." Barcena is also a host of the "Willie, D-Lo and Trejo Morning Show" on Infinity Broadcasting's Sacramento affiliate station.
