The famous Dutch collective plays an audacious live music score to accompany horror master F.W. Murnau’s Faust (1926). One of the most important and prolific artists in Dutch music, the saxophonist, clarinetist and composer Willem Breuker formed the highly theatrical, seriously whimsical Kollektief in 1974. His original score serves up an adventurous interplay of rock, skronk, klezmer and jazz, offering a counterpoint to the film’s stark chiaroscuro imagery and cosmically resonant themes of good and evil.
