Will Alsop Exhibit
The exhibit focuses on the Toronto neighborhood Kensington Market.

Architect and artist Will Alsop, principal of architecture firm SMC Alsop, is the focus of an exhibit opening in Toronto this weekend. From June 8–July 28, the Olga Korper Gallery will feature “Cultural Fog,” the first North American exhibit highlighting Alsop’s paintings.
In the exhibit, Alsop questions the idea of urbanism and community, focusing on the Toronto neighborhood Kensington Market. "I paint to learn, to exercise my brain and my imagination. “Cultural Fog” is my musing on the possibilities for Kensington Market and the real nature of community," he explains.

Alsop’s work in Toronto includes the Sharp Centre for Design at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD), which landed him the 2004 RIBA Worldwide Award and the City of Toronto Urban Design Award in 2006. Additional honors include the 2007 RIBA Commercial Building Prize for the Palestra office development in the UK and the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2000.

An opening for "Cultural Fog" will be held June 7 from 6pm-9pm. The Olga Korper Gallery is located at 17 Morrow Avenue.
