The Shrine Circus falsely leads people to believe that the profits from their circuses go to sick kids. Wrong. The proceeds go to the adminstrative costs for each temple. Shriner's also escapes any kind of regulation of their animals because they rent them from other circuses thus allowed the animals to have care that is far below set standards. Animals in the possession of Shrine circuses have been found to have a lack of veterinary care, inadequate shelter, little access to nutritious food or clean water, as well as documented proof of mishandling of the animals by trainers. Animals used by the Shrine Circus have also caused death and injury. More info can be found here.
