The witches of Oz are soaring back into the Kennedy Center this summer for the award-winning Broadway musical Wicked, and in honor of their arrival, the KC Café and Roof Terrace Restaurant will offer magical treats for both children and adults.

Starting Saturday, June 18, the KC Café will open its gates for a Wickedly Fun Tea after weekend matinee performances of Wicked, with an assortment of teas, fresh lemonade, iced tea, light refreshments and dessert decorating workshop. Executive Pastry Chef Ben McCormick has crafted a witch’s hat dessert, made of flourless chocolate cake, for children to garnish with a variety of confectionery toppings while he shares design tips and tricks. In addition, the café is brewing a special Emerald City–inspired beverage, green in color and contained in a smoking cast-iron cauldron, for the youngsters to enjoy.

As children create their edible masterpieces, parents can delight in a tea of their own amidst breath-taking views of the metropolitan skyline. Wine and cava will also be available for purchase a la carte.

KC Café’s Wickedly Fun Tea series is priced at $20 per person, and will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm after every matinee on Saturdays and Sundays from June 18 to August 21. Costumes for children are encouraged, space is limited and reservations are required. To make a reservation, please contact Jeff Wingate at 202.416.8559.

During the musical’s run, Roof Terrace Restaurant will add a touch of wizardry to its dinner menu with a delectably enchanting dessert - Pistachio Mousse Cake, an almond joconde sponge cake with nougat cream and pistachio mousse, topped with a light green glaze and chocolate witch’s hat for decoration.

For reservations or more information, please call 202.416.8555 or visit www.roofterracerestaurant.com or www.opentable.com.
