The White River Watchers invite you to our third annual Riverfest celebration, to be held Saturday, July 18th at Edgewater Park on E. 10th Street from 9am - 1pm. The White River Watchers of Madison County invite area residents to experience a canoe or kayak trip on beautiful White River as it meanders through downtown Anderson.
Canoe Country of Daleville will supply canoes and kayaks, and the Watchers will help launch your craft of choice at Edgewater Park. Launch time begins at 9 am and ends at 11:30 am. At a cost of $5/person, participants will float from Edgewater Park to Riverbend, a trip that takes approximately 40 minutes. If canoers choose to clean the river by picking up trash along the way, they will receive a complimentary White River Watcher t-shirt.
Riverfest participants should park at Edgewater Park, and will be transported back from Riverbend to Edgewater by Canoe Country. Charity's Angels will provide coffee, donuts, hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and drinks at modest cost. All proceeds are donated to local charities.
Last year, a young alligator was retrieved from the White River and taken into custody by Ed Roemer, owner of Nightstalkers. Who knows what we might find in the river this year! For more information, please call Sheryl at 683-1213.
