Whispering Lake Grove Summer Solstice Celebration June 28, 2009

Greetings Everyone,
The Druids of Whispering Lake Grove, ADF would like to invite you to an open-to-the-public Summer Solstice celebration at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation building on Sunday, June 28th beginning at 5:30PM. Our celebration will begin with our ritual honoring Miach and Airmed, Healers among the Tuatha De Danann and the healing herbs. Miach and Airmed are children of the Surgeon of the Tuatha De, DianCecht. It was Miach that fashioned a hand of flesh for the High King of Ireland, Nuada when he lost his arm in battle and his sister Airmed that attempted to give the secrets of the healing herbs to humankind upon her brother's death. All guest are welcome to bring an offering for Miach and Airmed to be given during the ritual. Offerings can be a work of your hand (some type of craft), songs, stories, poetry of the season or other items such as food or drink that you believe the Deities of the Occasion might enjoy.
Join us as we explore this lore and the magic of the healing herbs at the height of their power. A potluck dinner will follow the ritual, so please bring a dish to share.
