A former child star (Bette Davis) who vanished into obscurity and her sister (Joan Crawford), a movie star forced into retirement after a crippling accident, live together in a run-down mansion. Davis' character becomes overwhelmed with bitterness and sets out to exact a cruel revenge from her sibling.
