What It Means to Welcome the Stranger

An Interactive Program Addressing
Immigration as Jews and Americans

Through this educational program, HIAS hopes to recall our immigration stories, which are our common denominator, in an effort to awaken the Jewish community’s empathy for the plight of immigrants today. Beyond revisiting our history, we highlight stories of individuals caught up in today’s immigration web. We will probe further by addressing the latest wave of nativism and xenophobia and discussing how you can advocate for the rights of immigrants and refugees.
