Dancer, director, and puppeteer Yvette Edery, debuts her full length marionette fantasyland, "What is Love?" In this new solo piece, Edery transitions from the real to the imaginary and back again. A fusion of circus inspired art and world music, "What is Love?" will permanently alter your perspective on puppetry.

Printmaker/Illustrator Giancarlo Corbacho, graduate from the School of Visual Arts, previous collaborator with Yvette Edery on the short children's film, Jillian Dillon, and Director of Set Design of What is Love?, is delighted to debut his completed print series The Origin of Love, based on the Greek myth detailing the beginnings of love, in conjunction with Yvette Edery's fantasyland marionette show. See the acclaimed short film that has been making people say, "awwww!" at festivals across the U.S. Jillian is the most unlikely of heroines, brought to life in an animated world of astounding detailed paper puppetry, based on the story-song by Robert M. Charde. A recently made, kid friendly art-film, produced, directed, and designed by Yvette Edery, teacher at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Jillian Dillon is sure to make you feel like you did when you first were introduced to puppetry, no matter your age. After this evening's performance, the short film will be given a special screening, and followed by a Q and A with Yvette.

BEYOND WORDS, A PANEL ON HEALING AND THE ARTS
Saturday, July 17th, from 8:30-9:30 PM

Stay after the show to consider how meditation, performing art, and healing are all aspects of the same holistic expression. Panel discussion with audience participation, led by Yvette Edery, director of ArtistrYE Puppets' Magic Lantern Pictures, Reiki Master, Prema Birthing Practitioner, and past Meditation Professor of Living the Lightbody at New York University. Conversation will include how artists and other professionals can use healing or meditation techniques to advance their everyday practices. Learn how Yvette, and the other panelists, use meditation as a creative technique.

BEYOND WORDS, A MASTERCLASS, PUTTING THE PANEL INTO PRACTICE
Sunday, July 18th, from 8:30-9:30 PM

Yvette Edery will lead participants through an hour long meditation and healing training, using the same techniques she uses to prepare for her performances and maintain a healthy and vital energy force with which to puppeteer from. A relaxing way to spend your Sunday night, Yvette will gently guide you through tips and techniques she has gathered from her international education studying the body, mind, heart, and spirit abroad, including countries such as Ireland, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and more. An opportunity to meditate and open yourself to your own powerful inner gifts under the guidance of a master practitioner, courtesy of the Flushing Town Hall.
