What is Indie is launching their monthly music showcase starting Thursday, January 21st at 9pm!

The line up for the night will be:

Dora Alexander - www.myspace.com/doraalexander
Currently in the studio finishing up their debut album at Green Door Studios (Elliott Brood, Chad Vangaalen, Dan Mangan). Their sound has been described as haunting and atmospheric, and their on stage energy is bound to keep you entertained.

The Lonely Vagabond:
"Juxtaposing indie and post-rock sprinkled with a psych sensibility, this is breezy, hypnotic music that's punctuated by ambient and rock elements resulting in wistful, guitar-driven gems."

Donalyn - www.myspace.com/alistairblaikbundale

Donalyn is Alistair Blaik Bundale's newest project which now includes a Berklee trained awesome drummer named Brian. Though originally breaking into the scene as an acoustic act, the addition of Brain has added not only a beat, but a fuller and more captivating sound.

Donalyn will be releasing their new album in late March or early April, and are just finishing up in the studio with Trench Recordings.

First Rate People - www.myspace.com/firstratepeople

Are getting rave reviews from all over the music community. Their Myspace sums it up quite well.

Already fortunate enough to count director Vincent Moon (R.E.M., Arcade Fire) and musicians Matt Berninger (The National) and Henrik Markstedt (Air France) among their early supporters, FIRST RATE PEOPLE are finally ready to release their inaugural single.

Since forming almost immediately out of high school, the band has become a sprawling “folk-pop music collective … which draws on a sense of family” notes Owen Sound Sun Times columnist Bill Henry.

Blues in D - www.myspace.com/bluesind

Blues in D will be closing off the night and are bound to make you want to dance.

I Heart The Music:
What started with a bunch of friends coming together to play in support of the launch of a magazine, Blues in D have grown into something so much more than an “opening band”. With the tragic loss of band member Dylan Ellis in the early stages of the band’s existence, the remaining members were pushed to continue on their musical path finding even more motivation to continue to do what they do best: bring blues-inspired tunes to the mainstream.

Cover will be a measly five dollars and we hope to see you there!
