Western Prints: Carving Out the Western Landscape/Reduction Woodblocks by Leon Loughridge October 1, 2010

Loughridge meets the challenge of translating a painterly image of landscape into a block print. In reduction prints only one wood block is used to create a multiple color print. As the artist is continually removing material from the block to print the next color, the block is destroyed. This exhibition brings together a beautiful collection that displays a wide variety of landscape in the American Southwest.
