Major objectives:
Outreach volunteer will conduct door-to-door outreach informing homeowners facing foreclosure of the opportunities and benefits of enrolling in the Cook County Foreclosure Mediation Program where the chance of saving one’s home is %50, a startlingly successful record.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Walk door-to-door speaking with defaulting homeowners
• Posting and distributing program-related materials
• Recruiting other volunteers for the task
• Maintaining precise records of activities

Qualifications:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Organizational and record-keeping abilities
• Independence
• Car-owning highly recommended (we reimburse for gas)

Time commitment:
15 hours a month, dates and times are flexible.

Benefit:
Outreach Volunteers will, in a matter of hours, be able to ensure that distressed homeowners utilize all the resources available to them in protection of their home. In light of the economic crisis, volunteers can be sure that their efforts will stem one of the hardest hit demographics in our social climate. In addition, volunteers can expect to gain interpersonal skills, and an intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of affordable housing.
