West is West (Andy DeEmmony, 2010) will be screened on Wednesday 12th October at 7.30pm in the Studio Theatre.

This belated sequel to hit East is East opens in Salford in 1976. Sajid Khan, probably best remembered for wearing his Parka coat throughout the first film, is now a teenager and he is having a terrible time at home and at school. His father, George, sends him home to Pakistan for a dose of decent values.

The film relocates to a small village in Pakistan and Sajid is grudgingly submerged in family history. The film also features George's older son Maneer, who has been living in the village in the hope of finding a bride, while George himself is forced to face the past and the wife and children he left behind 30 years earlier when he moved to England and married a white woman.
