The West Hollywood Book Fair encourages reading, writing, and literacy in the West Hollywood and greater Southern California area communities. The Book Fair strengthens community ties by connecting the reading public with schools, libraries, local businesses and each other. It promotes diversity, and brings together people from many different age groups, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientations.

The West Hollywood Book Fair is organized by a Planning Committee of over 30 people including local authors, literary agents, city staff, school principals, community leaders, local bookstore owners, and others.

Numerous genres are represented at the Fair. The Fair’s exhibitors include many small independent bookstores and local literary non-profits and poetry groups. The components of the Fair include:


  • 9 stages featuring author panels and special guest speakers

  • 3 stages featuring live poetry, performances, storytelling, theater, readings, open mic

  • Writing workshops

  • Exhibitors


  • Interactive activities & book signings hosted by exhibitors
