Mark Williams and Justin Sheehy, formerly of Jonasay, would like to introduce you to their new band. Meet West Goes East.

Inspired by L.A.-based Justin's frequent trips to producer Mark's Sucker Punch Recording Co. in Bethesda, MD, the new band name comes just in time for a new record. Looking to repeat the success of their 2001 critically acclaimed Spare Dimes For Dust, Mark and Justin have assembled a collection of 11 roots rock gems written over the last several years that showcase Justin's stellar songwriting skills and Mark's instrumental and producing prowess. Veterans of D.C. music venues including 9:30 Club, Iota, and, of course, Jammin' Java, West Goes East invites you to join them as they release their latest album as well as perform classics from the Jonasay days.

For this New Jersey native living outside our nation's capital, songwriting is the vehicle of choice in the relentless pursuit of identity and community. With three records bearing his name but none revealing his true identity, Carson channeled his folk-fandom of storyteller-writers like Lyle Lovett, Ellis Paul and Martin Sexton and delved deep into the previously taboo domain of his family history.
